From the reviews
I have trained at Z Ultimate for several years! Started when it was USSD and major improvements have been made since the change. I am very happy with my training and instructors are very proficient and knowledgeable.
I absolutely love this place and so does my daughter (5 years old). Sensi Ian is soo great with her and I love seeing her confidence grow. She is only getting better and better and loves to show off her new moves. Practicing with her is now one of our favorite bonding moments. I would highly recommend.
I’m so glad I found this dojo! There’s a great sense of community, and I really look forward to coming and working out and learning
Excellent school! I've tried over half a dozen others over the past decade, and came back to this one. I consider it the best I've ever found. The teachers are amazing and the school is great. Update: I've been with them a total of 7-1/2 years now and am enjoying them!
Your first Karate class at Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
