From the reviews
I can't recommend Zanshin enough. My sons have thrived since starting karate here. The impressive curriculum has taught them so much and made them so strong. Most of all, their confidence has skyrocketed! Zanshin truly represents teamwork better than I could have ever wished for.
We were fortunate enough to be offered a promotional start up offer, and glad we took advantage! I was looking for something to help build my son’s confidence, and could not be more pleased!
What a great place to train! Everyone here is amazing and you can really see how much they care about my child and her success in Martial Arts and the little one loves to go to class every time. They are very professional and you are definitely getting your moneys worth..
Great for the kids! Classes are accommodating and flexible with schedules. I love everything that the kids are learning there: respect, defense, and hard work. I appreciate everything Shihan Fuller, Brock, Sharma are teaching the kids. They keep it fun and exciting throughout the breaks as well.
Your first Karate class at Zanshin American Karate and Kenpo
Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.
