From the reviews

Update 10/24/2019: My kids have been going to Rising Sun for several years and are almost black belt candidates! I wanted to send another positive kudos for Rising Sun especially for the private lessons.

★★★★★ — Peter, Oct 2019

We love Rising Sun Martial Arts! We have attended class for 4 years now! Through little ninjas and onto black belt leadership we have learned plenty of self defense tactics but in addition they practice public speaking by directing class in small portions which has boosted his self confidence because he knows he can…

★★★★★ — Gerald, Sep 2024

We enrolled our child in a martial arts class, and it’s been the best decision we’ve ever made. Over the past year, we've seen incredible improvements in his self-confidence and behavior. He’s calmer, more focused, and even aspires to become a master one day. This program has had a profound impact on him.

★★★★★ — Anne-Marie, Oct 2024

We enrolled our son at Rising Sun Martial Arts last year and it's been the best investment for our son. His focus and attention have improved and he loves going!! I never hear him say I don't want to go like he has with other sports. Instead he asks, do I have martial arts tonight?

Your first Karate class at Rising Sun Martial Arts Jupiter

Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Karate is a contact sport. Ease in, train within your limits, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
