From the reviews

One of the best decisions I made for my 9 year old son and for myself was to join TKC. That was 20 years ago. My son is now a 3rd degree Black Belt. TKC became our second home and Sensei Fariborz Azhakh’s training changed our lives. It gave my son high self esteem and confidence, love and respect for his fellow man.

My daughter and I attended TKC from 2005 through 2009. She was only 5-years-old when she started and I joined a year later. In October of 2009 we went through the 1st degree black belt testing together and received our black belts on the same day.

A spacious facility with all the training equipment you need Now that I’ve got that info out of the way, let me just say that TKC is not just a training facility but a place to learn and grow. The staff are more like family who genuinely care about each and every person who walks through those doors.

Team Karate Centers is the best Martial Arts school in the Valley. It's changed our lives. All 4 of our children train at TKC (and so does their dad) - 3 of us are black belts and someday we'll all be. But it's much more than that.

Your first Karate class at Team Karate Centers

Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Karate is a contact sport. Ease in, train within your limits, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
