From the reviews

I have been doing martial arts at UTA since I was 9 years old in 2013. In the past 10 years I have learned so much discipline, respect, and patience. I have also been an instructor at UTA since the age of 12, and it has been the best thing I could have done for myself.

We switched our son to UTA Manchester three years ago and have been very happy with the teaching style for our son. Master K using a mixture of discipline and fun to teach the kids good mortals along with their techniques while still making time for them to be kids and have fun.

I am writing this testimonial to express my gratitude to Grand Master Klinedinst for the amazing job that he has done teaching and instructing our son Jordan, at his UTA Karate school in Manchester. When Jordan started Karate at the age of nine, I was a little skeptical at first, on how we would do.

★★★★★ — Carmen, Mar 2024

My daughter has been going to UTA since she was a Little Dragon. It has been 7 years since she started and she has learned so much since then. Master Klinedinst's lessons and philosophy have been a great influence. I was so inspired with everything that my daughter was learning that I signed-up myself!

Your first Karate class at UTA Karate Manchester LLC

Nervous about walking into a Karate dojo for the first time? Almost everyone is, and a good sensei expects beginners to come through the door. Here's what to know. What to expect: a typical first class is a warm-up, then drilling basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks — not hard sparring. Step to the side whenever you need to; no one will bat an eye. What to wear: athletic wear you can move in (or a gi if you have one); you'll train barefoot. What to bring: water, and a mouthguard if you have one — many dojos lend a loaner gi for a first class, so it's worth asking when you call. As you keep training you'll add your own gi and the belt your dojo awards you. Kumite (sparring) eases in gradually, once your fundamentals are solid. Arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign a waiver and meet the sensei. It gets easier fast — most people feel far more at home by their third class.

Karate is a contact sport. Ease in, train within your limits, listen to your instructors, and if you have any injuries or health concerns, mention them before class and check with a doctor if you're unsure.
